Elder statesman and Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has described all those angling to take over President Goodluck Jonathan’s seat in 2015 as corrupt.
He said it was also wrong to accuse the president of not fighting corruption as the menace did not start with his administration.
“He didn’t start corruption. In fact, the military started it in the earnest”, he said.
Clark, who spoke at his Asokoro, Abuja residence on Wednesday, while receiving leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party from the South-South, said he was in possession of documents that would expose the president’s opponents but he would not release them until the timing is right.
According to the former Federal Commissioner for Information, Kano State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso, was indicted in 2003 for embezzling ecological funds belonging to Kano State. “He went to court to stop the indictment but he failed”, Clark said.
“Imagine Bukola Saraki that is also shouting. He used different names to open over 18 bank accounts. That is why the police invited him for questioning. Instead of going to explain himself, he went to court to stop police investigation”.
Continuing in his expose, the Ijaw leader said, “Is it (Sule) Lamido that will say he is not corrupt? He did not finish secondary school and he wants to become president. Let him come and deny that he did not finish secondary school”.
On Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, he said, “His company was owing every bank to the extent that the CBN said no bank should lend him money again, but a year after becoming a governor, he paid all the debts, where did he get the money to pay such?”
He said it was wrong for anyone to think that Jonathan was not doing well, saying that no other president has done half of what President Jonathan has done in the history of this country.
“All of them should leave Jonathan alone, he has done more than any one of them all”, even as he advised those aspiring for the 2015 presidency to give up their aspirations because “there is no vacancy in Aso Rock. Jonathan will contest in 2015 and he will win”.
