The ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter, under the leadership of Engineer Bayo Dayo received a boost on Thursday with the defection of 38 All Progressive Congress (APC) faithful from Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area to the PDP.
The defecting members were led by the duo of Alhaji Wasiu Daodu and Mr. Gilbert Olumuyiwa Richards.
Speaking on behalf of of the defectors, Mr Gilbert, said they regretted joining APC, promising to work hard with the other members of their new party to deliver all PDP candidates in the 2019 general elections.
He pledged their support and loyalty to the Engineer Bayo Dayo -led state exco.
Receiving the defectors, a chieftain of the PDP in Ogun state, Alhaji Munir Idris, assured them of level playing ground and equal membership within the PDP and also promised that those who defected would become major stakeholders of the party in Ado Odo -Ota Local Government Area and state.
Alhaji Idris also implored the PDP members to accept the new entrants in the party and work with them to ensure success.
