On Monday, the Ogun State House of Assembly will get started with evaluating the performance of the 2023 budget for the third quarter of the year.
It is planned to conduct audits of the numerous ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of the state government as well as the councils of local government in order to determine the extent to which they comply with the 2023 Appropriation Law.
It was noted in a statement that was released by the Clerk of the Assembly and Head of Legislative Service, ‘Deji Adeyemo, that the exercise is a part of the oversight activities of the legislative arm of government in the promotion of accountability and transparency.
According to Adeyemo’s explanation, the activity is in accordance with sections 128 and 129 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 1999 (in its revised form).
According to what he said, the evaluation of the success of the budget will begin each day at 10 am and continue until Monday, October 30, 2023.
Adeyemo asked all of the state government’s MDAs as well as the local government councils to make the pertinent documents and information available in order to ensure the success of the exercise.
