The third floor of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) office, Ikeja was on Monday morning gutted by fire.
The office, located at the Good Shepherd House in Alausa, went up in flames at about 9. 30 am on Monday.
The prompt response of men of the Lagos State Fire Service prevented the inferno from spreading to other floors even as security operatives have condoned off the area.
Earlier, workers at the office rushed out of the building to avoid being caught up in the inferno.
The LIRS Director of Administration’s office is on the third floor where the fire started from.
The cause of the fire is presently unknown and officials of the service have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
