As a follow-up to the Tuesday September 22, 2015 Extra-ordinary Session of ECOWAS leaders in Abuja on the situation in Burkina Faso, a group of West African leaders were selected to meet on Wednesday September 23, 2015 in Quagadougou.
The release from the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, Laolu Akande on Wednesday September 23, 2015 indicated that President Muhammadu Buhari, who hosted the Abuja summit would be represented at the meeting by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
It further stated that six ECOWAS leaders would be attending the meeting on Wednesday September 23, 2015 with the leaders of last Thursday’s military coup in Burkina Faso. Adding, the Vice President is expected back to Abuja on the same day.
