Yesterday, September 3, 2016 was the highly anticipated Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless.
The event which had two headliners, 2Face Idibia and MI was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos and had in attendance multitudes.
The event attracted celebrities such as: Omawunmi, Florence Ita Giwa, Nedu, Praiz, DJ Lambo, Audu Maikori, Vector, Ay, Praiz, Paulo, Kelly handsome, Toke Makinwa, Annie Idibia, Young L, 2Kay, Lola Ray, Jimmy Jatt, Toke Makinwa, Ushbebe, Bukihq, Terry Apala, Timaya, Burna Boy, TY Mix, Sound sultan, Ruggedman, Tee A, Joel, Wizkid, Isaac Gerald, Keke and ID, Ushbebe, Yaw, Funny Bone, MC Shakara, DJ Nee, comedian Jedi, Burna Boy and DJ Lambo.
The show was a display of artistry, professionalism, fresh talents and immerse performances.
Sometime during the event, DJ Lambo and Audu Maikori were spotted having a great time as she mimed all MI’s songs back to back.
Also the audience got to see a part of the popular Lagos festival, the Eyo festival, when three performers took to the stage decked out in their costumes.
Meanwhile, some humanitarians and activists were recognised for their efforts in helping internally displaced persons by the 2Face Peace award presented by Dr Kenny Ogunde.
We learnt Banky W and Toke Makinwa came but left immediately, probably because there was no space and celebrities were left standing.
One half of the Psquare duo, Paul Okoye was also spotted chilling without his twin brother.
Another great highlight was when Cobham’s surprised fans when he drove into the hall after 2Face took to stage.
While the ‘Officially Blind’ crooner took to the stage belting his hits, Annie Idibia, AY Makun’s wife, Mabel Makun, Ik Osakioduwa were spotted grooving and singing along to Waje and MI’s performance of ‘One Naira’.
The event also had people moved to tears as DJ Lambo was seen crying while MI and brother, Jesse Jagz, Nonso and Ice Prince sang ‘My Brother’. Late OJB Jezreel’s first daughter couldn’t hold back as she let the tears flow as 2Face and her elder brother performed OJB’s ‘Searching’.
The show was worth the hype with MI’s electrifying performances, Choc city reunion and 2Face’s tributes to OJB.
