“My company will not be working for him in the 2019 election”, Jideonwo declared in disgust.
For Jideonwo, Buhari hasn’t changed and never will. “On the fundamentals of it, nothing has moved. There’s a loss of moral authority. His biggest pitch was his moral authority. He doesn’t deserve to continue.”
“Buhari is a disappointment”, Jideonwo said for the umpteenth time. “If he were a success, they’d be hailing me. So why won’t I take the abuse if he’s failing?
“I have a problem with those who say they regret voting for him. That means you didn’t really think about the choice you were making.
“His heart beat for Nigeria in 2015 while working with him. But he was fundamentally the same guy. He hadn’t changed. One thing you can’t accuse him of is personal corruption, though.
“The fundamental right of a citizenry to punish a failed government is crucial. That is the democratic ideal. When people say they regret, what are they regretting? Regret a level playing field in our democracy?”
