Jose Mourinho could be offered a return to management by struggling LaLiga giants Real Madrid, according to a sensational report.
The Portuguese coach is without a job since being sacked by Manchester United on 18 December, but has been linked with a host of clubs.
Latest reports suggested his former club Benfica are keen on the 55-year-old after sacking their coach Rui Vitoria.
However, according to Portuguese publication record, Mourinho informed the club that he has not interested in returning at this point.
Reports now claim that the outspoken manager could instead be snapped up by struggling Real Madrid, who have dropped 10 points behind FC Barcelona and out of the UEFA Champions League qualification spots following their sixth defeat of the season.
Real president Florentino Perez has remained a big fan of Mourinho and is reportedly on the brink of offering him a chance to return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
It is claimed that Mourinho would jump on the chance to return to Spain despite his troublesome ending at the club.
He wants to become the first manager to lift the Champions League title with three different clubs and complete his hat trick with the defending champions after winning it with Porto in 2004 and Inter Milan in 2010.
Meanwhile, Santiago Solari, who replaced Julen Lopetegui in October, has already come under pressure after losing three of his 11 games in charge.
