The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has notified the public on the planned distribution of contraband KSALOL Tablets and predstavits across the country.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control stated that information has reached NAFDAC about a plan to smuggle in and distribute falsified KSALOL Benzodiazepine brand and predstavits 400mg capsules across the country for consumption. The contraband Ksalol benzodiazepine is sold by generic drug maker Galenika.
According to NAFDAC Benzodiazepines belong to a class of psychoactive drugs used to treat psychological and neurological disorders, such as panic attacks, depression, insomnia, nausea, muscle relax among others
Medicine distributors, sellers, healthcare providers and consumers to be cautious and watchful to avoid the importation, distribution, sale and use of the falsified Ksalol benzodiazepine.
NAFDAC has therefore urged members of the public who have the falsified Ksalol benzodiazepine to discontinue its use or sale.
In view of this NAFDAC have directed healthcare professionals and consumers to report adverse effects related to the use of the product to NAFDAC office, or through pharmacovigilance@nafdac.gov.ng.
