The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has cautioned Teslim Folarin, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in the last general elections, not to blame Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde for his defeat in the governorship race.
On Monday, the group revealed this information in response to a recent claim attributed to Folarin.
According to our correspondent, Folarin said earlier on Saturday that he was cheated out of the presidency by the APC’s plans.
Akeem Olatunji, the PDP’s state publicity secretary, called him a “sore serial loser” in a statement released to the media.
In a statement released to DAILY POST on Monday, Olatunji claimed that Folarin had been soundly defeated in his voting booth by a margin of more than one hundred votes.
He went on to say that Makinde couldn’t have been governor on his own, but that he and the late Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu had adopted Folarin as a son.
Who then, in his voting precinct, electoral district, and municipal administration, put him under the bus? In addition, prior to his accidental elevation to the position of Senator in 2007, Folarin was a complete unknown in Oyo State politics.
A political opportunist unworthy of the ground of merit and order of political ranking at the time on three separate occasions, “Ordinarily, we would have ignored this reckless outburst by the most ungrateful politician in Oyo State since the return of democracy to Nigeria in 1999,” Olatunji said.
I don’t understand how a Folarin can loathe himself so much that he keeps subjecting himself to emotional anguish. Why can’t he just snap out of it and accept the fact that Seyi Makinde is his political godfather and not a member of the same political class or league as himself? What exactly is so difficult about it?
