The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given President Bola Tinubu the responsibility of selecting candidates for the Federal Executive Council, which has not yet been formed.
Party officials at the state level urged the president not to nominate individuals to key positions in the party who lacked the core beliefs and support of the electorate.
To help the government carry out its many initiatives and spur growth across all of the essential sectors, the party has tasked Tinubu with selecting an Abia native who possesses the requisite skill, ability, and competence.
Mr. Offor Okorie, the APC’s State Publicity Secretary, issued a statement over the weekend clarifying the party’s stance.
He opined that whoever President Bola Tinubu appointed to represent Abia State in the Cabinet must have significant support among the electorate.
To lead the All Progressives Congress to victory in the upcoming elections, the President of the United States should appoint a popular and electable Abian.
“He must equally ensure that he selects an Abia indigene who possesses the charisma, capacity, and team spirit to unite all warring factions in the Abia chapter of the APC as one united family.”
