On Wednesday, labor unions and other stakeholders in Kwara State participated in the nationwide protest and strike action led by the national bodies of labor movements in the country in response to the sufferings brought on by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to remove the fuel subsidy.
At before 9 a.m., the demonstrators had arrived at the Governor’s office in Ilorin, the state capital, and were making their way to the Government House on Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin, to present Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq with their complaints.
According to Infostride News, the protesters did not resort to violence.
On Tuesday, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, the state police commissioner, called a meeting of labor leaders, student groups, and chiefs of security agencies to urge a peaceful demonstration in the event that the action goes forward.
