Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, Unai Simon has come out to blast La Liga for invading the players’ privacy in Spain. He recently revealed this while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, placing cameras in the dressing room as a gimmick for fans is not the way to go about things, because the locker room should be a personal atmosphere for footballers.
Unai added that he does not feel comfortable with the cameras around while players observe their rituals before matches.
His words, “I have always experienced the locker room as something personal, private, for us. When you go out to a game, you need rituals, concentration, and people you feel comfortable with. Seeing cameras that are recording how you wear the shin guards or tie the boots, maybe you don’t want anyone to find out. Or you’re praying to a saint, I don’t know!”
“I don’t like it, I don’t feel comfortable. It seems to me that it is our sacred moment and I feel that someone is invading it. The players have many hobbies that we don’t want to come to light.”
