The newly inaugurated Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, was warned on Tuesday by political commentator Shehu Sani that he risks “serious political trouble” with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wike’s capacity to do his job well has been established, he said, but he has a “tendency” to get himself in problems with the president “by his utterances or actions.”
Ex-Senator from Kaduna Central warned that Wike needs to “walk in a minefield or be blown by it.”
The new FCT minister’s ability to perform is unquestionable, Sani said on Twitter. He might, without a shadow of a doubt, cause himself and the President significant political difficulty with his words or deeds. He’ll have to navigate the minefield with skill or get blown up.
When Wike was sworn in as FCT Minister on Monday, Infostride News reports that he made a promise to “step on toes” by dismantling all unlawful constructions in the FCT, regardless of who owned them or how high up in society they were located.
He moreover promised to put an end to free-range livestock grazing in Abuja.
