Young striker, Elye Wahi has come out to explain why he ignored a move to Chelsea. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he did not want to make a move for the sake of it, and he was even closer to joining Frankfurt than the Blues in the summer.
Elye added that he ended up joining RC Lens in the end, and he does not have any regrets.
His words, “Chelsea – I didn’t want to go there just for the sake of it. Frankfurt was close, more so than Chelsea. I spoke with the manager there (Dino Toppmöller). He speaks French and that was important for me. They had to wait for Randal Kolo Muani’s departure and waiting for it was too complicated. I don’t have any regrets.”
