Kogi Guber: Dino Melaye denies seeking refund of vote buying money

It has been reported that Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the recently concluded Kogi governorship election, is requesting a refund of money he supplied for vote buying.

Melaye dismissed the report as false in a statement he signed on behalf of his campaign’s Media Directorate and shared on his Facebook wall.

The claim, published by an online media (not InfoStride News) had said that an irate Melaye “seeks refund after sharing out N250,000 per polling unit for vote buying”.

Melaye stated that the report was created by the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Melaye denied the claims, saying, “The SDM Media Directorate wishes to state that such misguiding headlines and story is nothing but unfounded and an attempt to distract the general public from the electoral heist that was committed in the Kogi November 11 elections.”

For the record, “Senator Dino Melaye, as a democratic evangelist, a champion of anti-corruption in Nigeria, and a man who lives in fear of God, will never stoop to the criminal and destructive level of the APC to engage in vote-buying.”

When it comes to election fraud, “Nigerians are not unaware of what transpired in the Kogi state election on November 11 where rigging was taken to a whole new legendary and scientific level.”
