Former Anambra State governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed his belief that women are less susceptible to corruption than men, attributing this to their family-oriented values.
In a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Obi explained that women’s focus on family and societal well-being often drives them to work toward positive change.
“Women are less corrupt. They are not as corrupt as men,” Obi stated.
“Because they have families, they are more determined to see things work.”
Reflecting on his tenure as governor, he highlighted his choice to place women in key government positions.
“When I was governor, my Chief of Staff and commissioners for Education and Planning were all women,” he added, underscoring his trust in their integrity and commitment to governance.
Obi’s comments contribute to ongoing discussions about gender and corruption, emphasizing the potential role of women in enhancing accountability in public service.
