The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 21 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo State.
The arrests were carried out by EFCC operatives on Tuesday, following actionable intelligence on the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet-related fraud, according to a statement on the agency’s official X (formerly Twitter) page.
Items recovered from the suspects include 10 exotic cars, laptops, and mobile phones.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged in court upon completion of investigations.
