Ahead of its inaugural National Convention on Friday, Nigeria’s largest opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), today in Abuja, zoned its chairmanship position to the South-South geo-political zone.
The front-runners from the zone for the exalted position are Prince Tony Momoh, Chief John Oyegun and Timipre Sylva.
Similarly, the zone will also produce the Deputy National Secretary and the Deputy National Legal Adviser.
The South-West, according to the APC National Convention Committee, is to produce the National Legal Adviser, Deputy National Chairman and the National Financial Secretary.
Meanwhile, the South East is to produce the APC National Organising Secretary, National Auditor, Deputy Finance Secretary and Deputy Women Leader.
The North Central will produce National Publicity Secretary, National Women Leader, Deputy Treasurer and Deputy Welfare Secretary.
Besides, the APC National Secretary, National Youth Leader and Deputy National Auditor will come from the North East.
The North West, according to the committee, will produce the Welfare Secretary, Deputy National Chairman, National Treasurer and the Deputy National Organising secretary.
However, the committee explained that “each of the six geo-political zones will produce the following; One Zonal National Vice Chairman, One Zonal Women Leader, One Zonal Youth Leader and One Ex-Officio”.
