The MD/CEO of RIVTAF GOLD ESTATE, Mr. Mustapha Njie said, the first phase of the Golf Estate housing project will be ready by the end of July and made available to clients in August this year. Mr. Njie made the disclosure while chatting with newsmen in Port Harcourt. The RIVTAF Chief Executive said that the price tag of N12 Million for two bedrooms and N10 Million for three bedrooms was set up in such a way that it will be affordable and relative for Civil Servants to buy adding that initially when they started the Golf Estate housing project under joint venture agreement, they had an off-take guarantee where Civil Servants would pass through the Primary Mortgage Institute (PMI) to buy these units.
He said, already 90 per cent of the properties have been sold as they had no hitch in selling the houses pointing out that this was so because before the ground breaking in December 2012, sales had started due to the confidence people have in the business while others pay on mile stone basis. Mr. Njie noted that because of his 25 years track record in real estate business he was recommended by the World Bank to enter into venture agreement with the State Government to showcase what he had been doing in real estate development in Gambia, Senegal and Mali.
According to him, his company TAF HOMES entered into Public Private Partnerships with Rivers State Government on a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) called RIVTAF which made him to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Rivers State Government in July 2012 and in December of the same year a Joint Venture agreement to develop close to 900 housing units covering about 40 hectares of land was signed. He stated that the purpose of the housing development is to sell to the general public and to make it available and affordable in such a way that public servants can also have access to it adding that the project is divided into three phases, with the first phase comprising of 31 villas; stand alone, 62 down houses of Four bedrooms and 200 two and three bedroom apartments which will be ready by the end of July and urged the public to take advantage of the opportunit
