Ahead of the general elections next year, youths under the aegis of North Central Youth Consultative Assembly, NCYCA, have urged the former governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, to join the 2015 presidential race to salvage the nation.
The NCYCA is one of several other groups that have called on Saraki to declare his interest in the presidential race.
The group, in a communique signed by Comrades Abubakar Ibrahim and David Audu, chairman and secretary respectively, after its general assembly meeting yesterday in Makurdi, Benue State, said the country was fast crumbling and needed a viable and purposeful leader like Saraki, who according to it, is a bridge between the older and new generations.
The group noted categorically that the unique combination is the needed edge in developmental trends, as Senator Saraki will surely serve as the buffer between both generations and the provision of an all-inclusive government.
“It is in the light of after deliberation and consideration, leaders of the 22 youth groups in the North Central and the youth Assembly after deep and conscientious scrutiny of candidates who have presented themselves for leadership from various regions of Nigeria and found none deserving of such elevation, have decided to call upon Sen. Bukola Saraki, to throw his hat in the race to salvage the nation which is fast crumbling”, the communique read.
