Abuja (Office of the Head of Service Report) – The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi has stressed the need for government institutions to work together for effective service delivery to Nigerians. He disclosed this lately in Abuja when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chairperson of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
Danladi Kifasi added that there is need for collaboration between his office and the Federal Civil Service Commission to ensure that government policies are implemented successfully and productivity is enhanced. The Head of Service stated further that the Public Service Rules would soon be reviewed and that training would be given priority during his tenure in office to boost the capacity of workers for effective service delivery to Nigerian citizens.
He also assured that he will continue to build on the relationship of his predecessors with the Federal Civil Service Comission to ensure the realization of the transformation agenda of government. Kifasi further solicited the cooperation of the commission towards instilling discipline in the service and ensuring that the service is rid of corrupt practices and the lazy attitude of some civil servants in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
Earlier in her remarks, the Chairperson of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Joan Ayo (Deaconess) said that the Commission has recruited 170 persons with disability into the Federal Civil Service in 2014. She intensified that the disabled persons have been given appointment and a place must be created for them to utilize their skills.
“They have been given appointment; some of them regrettably cannot fit into the system. But we try to ensure that anyone given a job has something to do otherwise it would be frustrating to the Commission and the affected persons,” she said.
