ABUJA (Federal Ministry of Aviation Report) – President Goodluck Jonathan has recently commissioned the Dutse International Airport in Dutse-Jigawa to promote aviation services in Jigawa State.
In the monthly review of activities of the Aviation Ministry released on Tuesday November 4, 2014, the Publicity Department of the Ministry noted that the Permanent Secretary, SKY Adelakun carried out inspection visit to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja-Lagos on the 19th of September, 2014. It further disclosed that the Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka visited the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru-Jos on the 9th of October, 2014.
According to the report, the 3rd IWA-JI and Obiora Festival of Eze Iweka III as well as the reception ceremony of the Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka (Chief) was held on the 11th and 12th of October, 2014. Adding, the Ministry of Aviation inaugurated the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of the Ministry on September 22, 2014.
Other activities engaged by the Ministry of Aviation in the month of October 2014 include: Courtesy visit by the Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada (Capt) to the Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka; the engagement of the British – Nigeria Aviation Security Partnership and the visit of a delegation of the management team of Air France KLM to the ministry.
“The Nigerian Society of Engineers paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Aviation as well as visit by the Director General of NTA and that of NTDC. Also, the Executive Committee of the Association of Senior Staff Union of the ministry was inaugurated during the period under review,” the report indicated.
In another development, the Ministry staged a Public Affairs Forum tagged: “Jonathan Administration: 4 Impactful Years,” and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Aviation, S.K. Yemi Adelakun was inducted as a fellow of the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria.
