Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda, on Monday said that his administration had fulfilled the promises it made to the people of the state in the last eight years.
Yuguda said this in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Abuja.
According to the governor, his achievements and legacies in office will speak for him after the expiration of his tenure on May 29.
He commended the people of the state for the opportunity given to him to serve them as governor for eight years.
“By God’s grace, I can now beat my chest to say I have fulfilled my promises to the people of Bauchi State”, he said. “I am happy that I shall be handing over a safe and sound state to my successor”.
The out-going governor urged politicians to learn to accept defeat and to always pray for their leaders.
“Losing and winning election are trials from God, I want to urge Nigerians to always pray for their leaders”, he said.
Yuguda, who lost his bid to the senate, counselled the people of the state to be law abiding and imbibe harmonious co-existence for the peace and progress of the state.
