Reports that Governor Umo Eno praised Atiku Abubakar for his role in the phony certificate saga of President Bola Tinubu at Chicago State University have been refuted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State and Mr Ekerete Udoh, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor.
Social media had suggested that Governor Eno had praised Atiku for his role in exposing Tinubu’s alleged phony certificate during Tuesday’s PDP stakeholders meeting in the state.
However, the PDP issued a statement from the office of its publicity secretary, Borono Bassey, denying the rumor and calling it an attempt to involve Eno and the party in a legal proceeding.

The governor and the state PDP, he said, have no authority to comment because the case is pending.
He continued by saying that the governor would do nothing but wait for the court’s decision, adding, “he will join in the usual respectful and deferential chorus of ‘As the court pleases!!'”
Udoh countered by saying the story was an attempt to discredit the close bond between President Tinubu (whom he referred to as “the father of the nation”) and the governor.
“At no time, at the PDP Stakeholders’ meeting that took place yesterday, was any such issue as maliciously reported by the faceless reporter, ever tabled or discussed,” the CPS said, demanding the writers to give video evidence of where the governor made such remarks. We dare the author to produce audio or video of such conversations.
We’d want to stress again that His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno does not waste time with chitchat because that’s not what pastors do. He is respectful of established authority and, as a peacemaker who has collaborated with members of both parties since taking office, would never stoop to such partisan posturing.
