Unai Emery has said he was not shocked by the team that Carlo Ancelotti lined up for Bayern Munich’s 3-0 Champions League defeat against his side.
Bayern dismissed Ancelotti the next day but Emery believes that the Italian will be well able to recover from the disappointment.
“Every manager knows what life is like for us,” the PSG boss told a news conference ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash with Bordeaux.
“It’s true that that we don’t want situations like what happened to Ancelotti. But he’s a great manager with a lot of experience. He knows better than me and a lot of coaches how it works.
“I said after the match on Wednesday that [Bayern’s team selection] was not a surprise because he had a lot of great players.
“In the last few matches he changed a lot — one for the other — and had a lot of rotation. You could see on Wednesday, with the players that were on the pitch, that he had a good team. And the players he brought on in the second half are also very good players.”
