Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann scored 32 goals in all competitions last season.
Antoine Griezmann’s advisor has said that the France international was happy to sign a new deal with Atletico Madrid despite interest from Premier League clubs and Paris Saint-Germain.
Griezmann, 25, extended his previous deal by one year in June, meaning the attacker is now tied to Atletico until 2021.
Sources said in June that Manchester United had expressed an interest and Eric Olhats has confirmed there was contact with several English clubs and PSG, but he said Griezmann had no reason to leave Atletico.
“Antoine extended his contract with pleasure,” Olhats told France Football. “At no point was this club a back-up plan.
“Teams from abroad did however call on him during the close season. In England, there were several direct expressions of interest, but a lot of clubs are under reconstruction.
“There were also meetings with Paris Saint-Germain. The project was very attractive, but he’s just become a father, he feels good in Spain and Atletico is, I repeat, a great club that gives him everything he expects and which is managed by a great coach.”
Olhats said last month that Griezmann had considered an offer from PSG, who enquired about the player’s availability after he scored 32 goals in all competitions and helped Atletico to their second Champions League final in three seasons.
The former Real Sociedad forward then finished as the top scorer at Euro 2016 with six goals and was named player of the tournament after France were beaten by Portugal in the final.
