Gabriela Cavallin has come out to urge Manchester United to remove Antony from the squad. This is coming after accusations of domestic violence by her and two other women, and fans have been reacting.
According to her, the player needs to be taken off the pitch pending the result of the ongoing investigation, and it will be extremely disappointing if he carries on playing.
Gabriela added that she is absolutely destroyed by the whole process, and her life has not been normal.
His words, “Antony needs to be taken off the pitch. It’s disappointing he’s still allowed to play while there’s an investigation. I am absolutely destroyed by the whole process. How can life go on as normal for him? They can’t just know what they know now and not do anything. He needs to be removed.”
WOW.
Antony Matheus dos Santos (born 24 February 2000), simply known as Antony, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester United and the Brazil national team.
Antony graduated from the São Paulo academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2018. He moved abroad to Ajax in the summer of 2020, where he won two Eredivisie titles and one KNVB Cup during his two seasons. Antony’s performances in the Netherlands led to a transfer worth €95 million (£82 million) to Manchester United, the highest sum paid for an Eredivisie player.
Antony was born in Osasco, São Paulo, Brazil, and grew up in Inferninho, a favela far from the city centre. Growing up, he would play football wherever he could on the streets or in his house, combining his love of futsal with street football and regularly attending São Paulo matches with his aunt. He is of Portuguese descent.
