The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has expressed its commitment to showcasing a government that is dedicated to uplifting the less privileged in society.
Tony Okocha, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of APC in the state, affirmed this during a visit to a motherless baby home and the home of the elderly in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Addressing reporters during the visit, Okocha emphasized the influence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, known for his compassion, on the party’s leadership in Rivers State.
He stated, “We are in the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who the world knows as a very compassionate person.
And of course, that has cascaded to us here in the state as leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State.”
Okocha highlighted the deliberate efforts of the party to support indigent homes, elderly care facilities, and motherless baby homes.
He expressed optimism that this gesture would reignite hope among the beneficiaries.
In addition, Okocha urged affluent individuals in the state to extend their support to these vulnerable groups, emphasizing the need for a government that prioritizes the welfare of the less privileged.
The APC’s outreach comes at a challenging time for Nigeria, marked by economic difficulties.
Through its actions, the party aims to demonstrate its commitment to social welfare and inclusivity, signaling a vision for governance focused on uplifting vulnerable segments of society.
