USWNT manager, Emma Hayes has come out to say that men’s football is still not ready for a female coach at the top level. She recently revealed that this is the case despite advancements in the women’s game, and fans have been reacting.
According to her, more club owners should be questioned about allowing female managers coach a men’s team, because they are in the best position to answer such a question.
Hayes added that we have female pilots, female doctors, female lawyers who work with men all over the world, but it is not the same for female coaches.
Her words, “I think you need to get more owners in to ask them that question, because they’re the people you have to ask that question to. I’m not the one in charge of that.
Yeah, of course, they’re not, otherwise it would have happened by now. I’ve said this a million times over – you can find a female pilot, a female doctor, a female lawyer, a female banker, but you can’t find a female coach working in the men’s game, leading men. It just shows you how much work there is to be done.”
WOW.
