Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will have to win more trophies to be seen as an Arsenal legend, Nigel Winterburn has said.
Nigel recently revealed that he feels more medals will be needed by Auba to cement a place alongside the greats in north London.
According to him, the Gabonese forward needs to keep scoring like he is now, over the next three years, to be regarded as a legend at the club.
He added that it does not even matter if he leaves Arsenal eventually, there are ways for him to make his mark at the club.
His words, “If Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang keeps scoring like he has been over the next three years of his contract, then he’ll be heading in the right direction to achieve legendary status at Arsenal.
“I look back at players that people consider as legendary for the Arsenal, then I look at what they won at the football club and they didn’t win that much.
“The number of trophies that some of the players I played with won, in comparison to the amount that Aubameyang could win, it’s clear that he isn’t going to win the same number of trophies.
“Then eventually when he leaves – it depends always on what circumstances you leave; he will then be regarded as one of the legends of the club.”
