Even though the Governor elect is not from his own political party, the Peoples Democratic party, the Minister of Youth Development who was also a former Governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Boni Haruna has congratulated the new Governor-elect of Adamawa State, Senator Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC), for his electoral victory at the just concluded governorship election.
Against the backdrop of the recent political and security challenges, which the State has witnessed, the Minister commended the people of Adamawa State for shunning violence and embracing peaceful conduct before, during and after the election; describing it as a symbolic demonstration of the deepening of democracy in the State.
The Minister noted that Adamawa State is a State with over 80 ethnic nationalities and vast religious leanings. He therefore, cautioned that the outcome of the election must not be used to divide the State. The Minister also urged the Governor-elect to run an all-inclusive government; especially in the area of service delivery.
Boni Haruna further requested that the Governor-elect show commitment and focus on the wellbeing of the people. He said: While the entire State is the constituency of the Governor-elect, he should give priority to the communities recovered from insurgents, by rebuilding destroyed infrastructure, properties and businesses in the areas.
