Former President Muhammadu Buhari has called on governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt a leadership style focused on the needs and welfare of the people.
Speaking during a meeting with members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) in Kaduna as part of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, Buhari described leadership as both a challenge and an opportunity.
He urged the governors to maintain a balance between governance and service delivery to ensure national progress.

His remarks, conveyed through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, reflected satisfaction with the performance of APC governors.
Buhari also encouraged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to Nigeria’s development, emphasizing integrity in public service.
“I left office in 2023 with the same personal assets I had when I became president in 2015,” Buhari said, reinforcing his message on transparency and accountability.
He also expressed appreciation to the administration of President Bola Tinubu for renovating his Kaduna residence, noting that while the exterior remained unchanged, the interior had undergone significant improvement.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, led the delegation to Buhari’s Kaduna home.
He commended the former president for setting a high standard in governance and for ensuring a smooth and peaceful transition of power.
Uzodinma highlighted key achievements during Buhari’s administration, including infrastructure development, social welfare initiatives, and progress in security. He also praised Buhari’s ongoing support for President Tinubu’s administration.
The APC governors used the occasion to reaffirm their respect and appreciation for Buhari’s leadership and his pivotal role in the formation and consolidation of the party.
