ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – July 17, 2014) – Atlanta Technology Leaders was live on July 10, 2014 with guests Katie Tucker, Stacey Sinkiewicz and Denise Bouie, representing Women in Technology (WIT). Host Kevin Finn interviewed these guests to discuss the upcoming Women of the Year in Technology awards.
Katie Tucker is the Program Director for the Women of the Year in Technology Awards, one of WIT’s largest events. She has been active with the organization for six years and has taken part in various programs such as Girls Get IT and WIT Connect. WIT Connect just completed their leading fundraising event that raised over $400,000 for scholarships dedicated to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education.
Stacey Sinkiewicz is the first business development director for WIT, and as such, she oversees fundraising and resource development to ensure the continuation and growth of WIT’s programs. Sinkiewicz advocates for women of all ages in Georgia’s STEM community through monthly forums and social events. This month’s forum is focused on preparing women who are entering the STEM workforce.
“The entire forum events are created around a central theme, and this year’s theme is Educate, Create and Innovate,” explained Sinkiewicz. “We are educating leaders, creating opportunities and innovating in business.”
Denise Bouie became the Program Director of Careers in Actions for Women in Technology after seven years volunteering with WIT. The program is designed for women in the workplace to develop their skill sets and advance their leadership roles. There are three different program levels offered to accommodate women currently occupying any stage of leadership position within their company.
