Davido might have started feeling the effects of lack of new music as he misses out on 2016 AFRIMA’s continental nominees list.
Having previously missed out on the award’s regional nominees list few weeks ago, the singer was again conspicuously missing from 22 categories which feature Nigerian representatives such as Wizkid, Kiss Daniel, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, D’banj, Yemi Alade, Patoranking, Don Jazzy, Falz, Simi, Tekno and YCEE.
Wizkid got three nods, with one being the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year’ nomination along with Tiwa.
Yemi (Best Female Artiste in Inspirational and Album of the Year), Falz and Simi (Revelation of the Year), Don Jazzy, Young John and Masterkraft (Producer of the Year), were all also recognised for their works.
Niniola, Iyanya, Tjan, Korede Bello, Kiss Daniel and Aramide are also competing in the category for ‘Best Artiste/Duo/Group In African RnB and Soul’.
The awards ceremony will hold on Sunday, November 6 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Recently, Davido vented his frustrations at a lack of music release since signing a mouthwatering deal with Sony Music in January.
