Popular Nigerian singer, D’banj is 35-years-old today and in celebration of his big day, the crooner took to Instagram today, June 9, 2016 to share a photo of himself with words of appreciation.
He wrote, “As i turn a year older i want to thank the lord for my wonderful journey , life and story and for making my dream of Being a Vessel of Visible HOPE to my generation come to life. I am Grateful to you lord, mom and Dad ,family , loved ones and my die hard fans ,Ac’s, kokolets and mamalets .I won’t be here without you guys and for that i’m Humbled. Love you all OooSssHhhEee. I’M D’banj.”
Meanwhile, the singer announced on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, that he will no longer continue his ambassadorial appointment with Ciroc Nigeria.
He made this known via his Instagram and Twitter, to the amazement of fans, who went on to encourage the singer to venture into his own beverage production.
Just recently, the Slot ambassador took to Instagram on June 1, 2016 showing off his achievements.
Recall that, D’banj won the Best Newcomer award at the 2006 Channel O Music Video Awards for “Tongolo”.
His album, ‘RunDown Funk U Up’ (2006), included the hit single ‘Why Me’ whose music video included the receipt of one Channel O Music Video Awards out of three nominations in 2007.
The music video for ‘Oliver Twist’ won the Most Gifted Male Video and Most Gifted Video of the Year awards at the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards. It also won the Song of the Year award, and was nominated for Best Pop Single at The Headies 2012. D’banj received the Best Male West Africa nomination at the 2012 Kora Awards for ‘Oliver Twist’ and was nominated for Hottest Single of the Year at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
