Jurgen Klopp has said the defensive approach Manchester United used at Anfield in Saturday’s goalless draw would not be tolerated at Liverpool.
Klopp said: “It’s not my right to be frustrated.
“I’m sure if we would play like this then we could not do it at Liverpool, but obviously in Manchester it’s OK. I don’t judge this, it’s all OK.
“We have to think about our performance, our situation and it’s not worse. Yes, we wanted to win, 100 percent.
We were working for it. All the subs were quite offensive. There were a lot of brilliant individual performances in a really difficult game.
“But again, sometimes to open it you need a bit of luck. First of all, you need to continue working really hard and then, at one point, it will happen.”
“The performance was worth three points,” he added. “We were the better side, the more active side. I think Man United came here and wanted a point. They got it and we wanted three points.
“Everybody knows it’s quite difficult when a top-class team like Man United has that defensive approach. You will not have 20 chances, but we had enough clear [chances].
“I’m happy about big parts of the performance. I said to the boys after the game: ‘We’ve already decided to take hard way when we joined Liverpool, so we have the hard way.’ Let’s carry on.
“So far we have only lost one Premier League game. It’s not exactly what we wanted but obviously everybody could see we’re not miles away from Man United, even when they have a few more points.
“When we [next] play against them maybe they probably can’t play this style again and maybe we have more gaps to use.”
