Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has tasked scientists in Nigeria to proffer solution to the worsening insecurity in the country.
Senator Ekweremadu said this on Friday at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, during the formal presentation of a book, Braving the Stars, written by Famous Nigerian Space Scientist and Professor of Physics, Pius Okeke.
He challenged scientists to develop devices that could be used to track insurgents.
Also speaking, foremost Elder statesman and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu advocated a constitutional restructuring ensuring equality of the six geo-political zones of the country.
Iwuanyanwu insisted that it is only by such restructuring that the many challenges presently facing the country could be tackled, noting that the present situation where some zones have higher number of states, council and legislative seats at both state and national level would only succeed in exposing the nation to worse security and political challenges.
