The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye has come out to apologize for a prior statement he made about the importance of giving tithes to the church. He recently had his say while speaking to his congregation, and the world has been reacting.
According to him, he was wrong to have said failing to pay your tithe will prevent one from making heaven because that is really not what the Bible preaches.
Pastor Adeboye, however, added that despite his admission to being wrong about tithing as a prerequisite to making heaven, it is still necessary that Christians pay their tithes.
His words, “I want to be apologising for making a mistake, for saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven. Sorry, that’s wrong.
That’s not in the bible. What the bible says is ‘Be at peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.
It’s possible to be right and wrong at the same time.
For years, we thought that light travels in straight line. Now, is that correct?… But later on we discovered it’s not straight as a rod, light travels in waves.
It is wrong to limit you to ten percent.
Ten percent should be for beginners.”
WOW.
