Players of Dolphins Football Club, led by their captain Sunday Rotimi have tendered an apology to the club management, people of Rivers State and Nigerians.
The apology was rendered in Port Harcourt recently on behalf of the players by Captain Sunday Rotimi for their failure to travel on time for a CAF Confederation game scheduled for Saturday 14th March 2015, in Tunisia.
According to him, they had a problem with their travelling allowance, that made the team miss its flight to Lagos, then Tunis and was walked over by the time they got to the stadium.
He has therefore on behalf of the entire players apologized for the role of the players in the situation.
“On behalf of my players, I want to apologize to the club management and also Nigerians concerning the game in Tunis.
“It’s unfortunate that we left Nigeria to Tunis and couldn’t play the game.
“I deeply apologize to all Nigerians and especially people of Rivers State”, Rotimi said.
Dolphins returned from the Tunisian encounter on Saturday and will play against Abia Warriors in a rescheduled league game on Wednesday in Umuahia.
