The Department of State Services (DSS) has removed Adegboyega Fasasi as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fasasi was replaced by Rasheed Atanda Lawal, a Deputy Director in the DSS, according to reports by The Nation.
While the exact reason for Fasasi’s removal remains unclear, sources indicate that the DSS Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, requested President Tinubu’s approval for Fasasi’s release to enable him to attend a strategic training course.

A source familiar with the development explained, “This change of guards is typical when a new DSS Director-General is appointed.
The agency works with sensitive intelligence, and new leadership often prefers trusted personnel in key positions, especially in the Presidency, with the CSO role being a top priority.”
As of Sunday evening, the Presidency had not officially commented on the situation.
