Bosnia-Hercegovina international and Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has joined Italian side AS Roma on a season-long loan.
The 29-year-old has won two Premier League titles in four years with City, scoring 50 league goals in 130 appearances for the Manchester club.
Džeko told Roma TV: “I came here to win titles with Roma. Hopefully we will win many, many trophies but first we have to work hard on the pitch and at the end, hopefully we will get where we want to be. I can only promise one thing and that is that I will give my best for this club in every game.”
He began his career as a midfielder at Bosnian side FK Zeljeznicar before moving to FK Teplice in the Czech Republic.
His goal-scoring prowess caught the attention of German side Wolfsburg, where he made an immediate impact. His 26 goals in 32 league games during the 2008-09 campaign propelled the side to the Bundesliga title for the first time in their history.
