The chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Tony Aziegbemi, has narrated his harrowing experience in the hands of his abductors, expressing a heartfelt wish that his worst enemies would never endure what he went through.
Aziegbemi was abducted by six gunmen at the entrance of his house after a meeting with Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki at the government house on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11 pm. He was released on March 26, 2024, after spending 11 days in captivity.
During a visit by the state’s deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, for Easter celebrations at his residence in Benin City on Sunday, Aziegbemi shared the difficult moments he faced in the kidnappers’ den.
“I would not wish anyone, even my worst enemies, to go through the ordeal I had in the kidnappers den,” he expressed.
Shaibu, accompanied by friends and political associates, thanked God for Aziegbemi’s safe return and celebrated Easter with him.
Shaibu noted his personal bond with Aziegbemi’s family, mentioning that he is the godfather to Aziegbemi’s twin babies.
