Egress Software Technologies Enjoys Another Successful Year at Infosecurity Europe
Market-leading provider of encryption services launches latest product offering, presents and exhibits at Infosecurity Europe 2014.
Responding directly to the market’s need for a secure online collaboration platform, Day One of the event saw the launch of Secure Workspace. A new pillar of functionality of the Egress Switch award-winning encryption platform, this Cloud-based service offers end-to-end secure collaboration by encrypting information at rest, as well as in transit. Providing check-in and checkout functionality, real-time auditing, workflow management, and comprehensive access control, in addition to using Government certified key management, Secure Workspace places data security and control firmly at the heart of information sharing, while at the same time guaranteeing a simple user experience.
Proving popular with delegates, who were able to demo this next generation of Cloud-based collaboration for the first time, Secure Workspace will be available to trial in the coming weeks.
On Day Two, meanwhile, Egress Chief Operations Officer Neil Larkins presented to a full Technical Theatre, addressing the topic of ‘Who’s really accessing your data? Building information assurance in a cloud-facing world’. Following recent media coverage of data breaches and international Government surveillance programmes, which has raised concerns about the security of shared data, the presentation encouraged delegates to examine the issues of data residency, risks posed by service providers, how to ensure controlled release of sensitive data and gaining identity assurance over communities of third party recipients. Inciting debate amongst attendees, many of these topical discussions continued on the Egress exhibition stand throughout the event.
These issues were also reflected in the ‘2014: The Year of Encryption’ market survey conducted on the stand. Offering delegates the chance to voice their opinions on topics ranging from Edward Snowden and Cloud security, to reforms to the European Data Protection Act, a full write-up of the results will be available in the coming days.
Elsewhere on the Egress stand, delegates were encouraged to take part in the Egress Buzz Wire Challenge, which saw a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 awarded for the fastest lap time on each day of the event. Infosec14 saw the 2013 record time repeatedly broken, with the following announced as the daily winners:
Day One: Phil Yeo – 12.5s
Day Two: Davinder Hunjan – 10.45s
Day Three: Imogen Cummings – 10.0s
Further congratulations also go to Allan Sneddon, who took part in the @EgressSwitch Twitter competition to win a Kindle Fire HD.
Reflecting on the exhibition, Egress CEO Tony Pepper comments: “Working closely with our existing customers and partners, we recognised the need to provide secure online collaboration functionality as part of a broader secure information sharing platform. Infosec14 provided a fantastic backdrop for the launch of Switch Secure Workspace, the latest offering in our portfolio of data encryption products. Over three days, the event also provided us with the perfect opportunity to meet up with existing customers, discuss the specific security requirements of new prospects, and update our broad channel community of VARs and SIs on the latest Egress product and service news all under one roof. We look forward to tracking the success of this event over the coming months.”
