The Federal Government has reiterated it’s commitment to revatilise the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited and National Iron Ore Mining Company Limited.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Oluwatoyin Akinlade.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary during a courtesy visit to the Ajaokuta Steel Plant and National Iron Ore Mining Company.
The permanent secretary stated that the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development wants the two companies to commence full operations soon.
Oluwatoyin Akinlade, noted that Ajaokuta Steel Plant can’t operate without the National Iron Ore Mining Company thus efforts are being made to rescue both companies to commence operation at the same time.
In the words of National Iron Ore Mining Company’ Sole Administrator, Nkechika Augustus, the objective of the company is to provide basic raw material for iron and steel production.
According to him National Iron Ore Mining Company is expected to supply 2.15 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate having 63% to 64% iron content for the steel plant to produce 1.3 million tonnes of steel on their first operation.
