Fellaini Is Not Available – Mourinho

Jose Mourinho once again failed to clear up the mystery surrounding Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

Fellaini has not seen action since coming on for the last ten minutes against Brighton last month, apparently sidelined with a ‘knee injury’.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Belgian has ‘been feeling pain in his knee, despite no major problem being diagnosed’.

There have been suggestions that Mourinho is leaving Fellaini out after he rejected a new deal, and the former Real Madrid boss did little to clear up the speculation.

“He’s not available. I don’t know (over festive period). Michael Carrick, no. But not for the Christmas period,” Mourinho told reporters.

“Valencia is out as you know, Eric Bailly is having surgery right now, or is just finishing or is still there, who else? Nobody else, everything is okay.”

On the expectations he has for Manchester United this season, he stated: “I don’t know, you say, you are the ones, not me.

“Expectation is to go to every match and try to win, which is what we do and the matches we lost we fought until the last second, the matches we lost if I’m not wrong 2-1, 2-1, 1-0, so we really manage to fight in every match to try the best result and nothing more than that we can do, we can promise, we go to every match and do our best.”
