Former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has stepped forward to offer assistance in the wake of a tragic kidnapping incident involving Alhaji Mansoor Al-Kadriyar’s six children.
Pantami revealed that, despite his general stance against paying ransoms to criminals, he has been compelled to act in this case.
The kidnappers, who recently took the lives of one of the abducted daughters, Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, and have threatened the remaining five sisters, are demanding a ransom of N50 million.
Expressing his sorrow over the loss of Nabeeha and the danger facing the other daughters, Pantami announced that a friend and brother have offered to contribute the remaining N50 million of the N60 million ransom demanded by the abductors.
He has facilitated the transfer of the funds directly to the father of the kidnapped girls, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, to aid in their release.
Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level student of Biological Science at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was laid to rest according to Islamic rites on Saturday following her tragic murder by the kidnappers.
The remaining abducted daughters include Najeebah, a 500-level student of Quantity Surveying, and Nadheerah, a 300-level student of Zoology.
Pantami concluded his statement on social media by expressing gratitude to the donor and praying for their reward in the afterlife.
