Former Morocco goalkeeper Abdelkadir El Brazi has died. The shot-stopper passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 at a clinic in Rabat, Morocco after a battle with cancer. He was 49.
El Brazi was capped 36 times by the Atlas Lions and featured at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. He was also part of the Morocco squad at the 1992 and 1998 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal and Burkina Faso.
He won the Moroccan championship with his first club, FAR Rabat, in 1989 and also had stints with Ismaily of Egypt.
