Former PDP Chairman Accuses Leaders of Sabotage, Calls for Unity in Anambra

The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Ndubuisi Nwobu, has accused some leaders of sabotaging the party over the past 28 years.

Nwobu made the accusation on Thursday during a meeting of party stakeholders convened to welcome the newly elected State Chairman, Chidi Chidebe.

Nwobu claimed that certain individuals who identified as party leaders had betrayed the PDP by accepting funds from political opponents to undermine the party’s progress.

“Anambra loves the PDP. The only problem is that those who call themselves our leaders go out, collect money from our opponents, and work against the party,” Nwobu alleged.

He expressed optimism about the party’s resurgence in the state, stating, “The PDP is back in Anambra State to reclaim its rightful position. If you believe in the PDP, believe with one mind.

We are now united, focused, and have purposeful, committed leaders to take the party to greater heights.”

Nwobu urged the newly elected leaders not to let down the party faithful, citing the overwhelming support from members.

“You must do everything possible to ensure that the PDP returns to the state as a winning party,” he emphasized.

New Chairman Outlines Roadmap
In his remarks, the new PDP Chairman in Anambra State, Chidi Chidebe, announced plans to establish seven committees within the next four months.

These committees, he explained, would focus on engaging stakeholders, reconciling aggrieved members, and promoting the party’s image.

“It has become important that these committees take up the task of reaching out to stakeholders and aggrieved members as well as showcasing and selling the party to the outside world,” Chidebe said.

He assured members that the committees would not be used to target anyone but would aim to identify challenges and proffer solutions for the party’s future.

Chidebe called for the support of party faithful and pledged not to disappoint in his efforts to rejuvenate the PDP in Anambra. “Together, we will raise the PDP to new heights,” he concluded.
