The father of Joshua Dariye, a former governor of Plateau State, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
The octogenarian was taken from his residence at his village, Mushere, Bokkos local government area, on Saturday night, after firing shots to scare residents of the area.
The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the incident.
“At about 8pm on Saturday, armed men numbering about nine invaded the compound shooting sporadically and took the man away,” spokesperson of the Command, DSP Abuh Emmanuel told Vanguard in Jos.
“We do not know the identities of the elements but efforts are being intensified by the Police to know the whereabouts of the men with the intention of rescuing the kidnapped man,” he said.
